GDSA Ambassadors

AMBASSADOR PROGRAM GUIDELINES:

Dear applicant,


We are proud to see that you are interested in the GDSA ambassador position.

The Gulf Dental Students & Young Dentists Association is present to provide a forum for the growing dental students' activities in gulf region and globally.

The purpose of GDSA will be the enhancement of the quality, and standards of dental student skills through establishment and development of leadership, and volunteer programs, as well as research projects in extra curriculum activities. This will train the dental students and make them collaborate with surrounding dental academies and institutions in the Middle East, Arab countries, and globally.

Your role will be to represent GDSA on your campus. You will be in charge of organizing and overlooking the GDSA events, as well as marketing for the association. At the beginning of your term you will receive an official letter from GDSA, to be submitted to your dean. This letter will include your roles and responsibilities and it will request the full cooperation from your college administration to assure that all activates will go as planned. The length of your term will be related to the number of applicants from your university for fairness. If there are multiple eligible applicants from the same university, a maximum of 4 months will be given to each ambassador.

After all applications have been received, the eligible applicants will be selected based on their CV and an interview.

To be eligible for this role you must fulfill the following:

  • Undergraduate/postgraduate dental student living/working in the GCC

  • Previous experience in extracurricular activities including memberships in associations, volunteer work etc.

  • Speaks Arabic and English fluently

 

What is expected from you as an ambassador?

  • Assemble a GDSA team on campus which will consist of yourself, a photographer and an editor (must be proficient in photoshop).

  • You will be expected to overlook and run all events and come up with creative and innovative initiatives.

  • A commitment of 5 hours/week to GDSA.

  • You will be requested to submit a report every 2 week about your weekly activities as the ambassador.

 

What you will get out of this experience?

  • Meeting and communicating with students and dentists around the region to help build a wider network.

  • The chance to work hand in hand with the executive board and develop your leadership and communication skills.

  • Certificates will be given at the end of the term to you and your GDSA team.

  • Every 4 months an “ambassador award” will be given to the highest achieving ambassador across all universities. The awarded ambassador will get: special discounts on all GDSA events and you will get free access to an accredited workshop of your choice (managed/organized by GDSA).
